A (Long) Journey Back to UTP

It has been almost 3 years since I left UTP and entered this world called WORK-Life. But one thing is for sure, every single time if I have a chance to pass by UTP, I will take some time to reflect on what I have achieved thus far, and simply just to be grateful of all these blessings in life. I really can't ask for more than what I have now.

Last weekend we had our Northern Region inter-OPU Sports Carnival. Last year I was just an "observer". This year around, I took part in bowling tournament (as if I know how to bowl!).

The bowling tournament was held at Meru, right after Jelapang. Was so surprised how fast developed that area is today. When we returned to UTP, I was cordially "requested" to be the emcee with another colleague of mine. True what my ex-boss used to say, "When you are ready, opportunity becomes your luck". I've never had the chance to emcee during my days in UTP. So I geared up myself, collected my composure, and just went for it!

Since I drove to UTP, I went exploring UTP again. Nothing much changed, same old. Remember this girl? Her real name, if I remembered correctly was, Nguyen Thi Minh Anh. Now she is Jessica, and owned a modelling company based at London. So what? I owned a haute couture fashion line based in Italy and I don't see my face anywhere in the IRC???? LOL!

This gate was the original gate of entry to UTP before the main gate was ready. And we used to walk all the way from V6 to this gate which was like Le Tour de France on foot!

Its already the end of June and I have done nothing much for myself just yet. Perhaps July...

What Can I Do?

I can just sit down and just chat for the whole day, can't I? But even to sit down and interview a person (chat), it takes a lot of effort and thinking before you open your mouth and actually ask someone a question.

Oprah usually asks herself, "What the intention of this interview". It is quite similar to Edward De Bono's approach to thinking, keep on asking yourself what is the ultimate objective of doing something, so that you don't get derailed in the process of completing the tasks.

So what is the purpose of this blog entry? Boredom!

I will start a new label, hopefully by this week - Artsy Me From Nothing.  LOL.. Can't wait!

The 26th Birthday

Well, lets start with Wesak Day first. I was watching the procession as it went by and I suddenly remembered there was this one particular practice that people (Buddhist) usually do on their birthday - liberation.

Liberation is an act of freeing (emancipating) someone or something from their current sufferings. And to make things more interesting, a day after Wesak Day, I found this tree behind the place I parked my car.

Well, its the Buddha tree. And this has to be the first time I saw fruits on its tree. Magnificent!

So then came by last week, 31st May 2013. Its stock closing day, for your info. Thus, I was expecting that I'll be working till at least 12 midnight or 1 morning. But it turned out, everything was done by 11 pm! Surprise surprise!! So before I went to bed that night, I was just browsing through YouTube just to watch whatever I can find. So I searched for "Oprah" and I found this interview she had with a Vietnamese monk, Thich Nhat Hanh on her new series the Super Soul Sunday. And I was just so enlightening to just even list to their conversations.

When midnight strikes, I switch off my phone, and then it was 1st June 2013.

I woke up early, and I choose to wear red, simply because my favourite color is red. I went to work, and well wishes just flown in from Facebook, Viber, Whatsapp. SMS and We Chat. I left work about 3 in the evening, and I went to a pet store to get some fishes. For what purpose? Liberation...

And so those fishes got liberated at this river...

And I went home, feeling better than usual when suddenly my dearest friend called me out.

Thanks for the cake Mak Teh! So all in all, my 26th Birthday was... AWESOME!
