Miracles Do Happen

Miracles do happen, but it depends on how you 'perceives' it. That's another Ah-Ha moment that I've received this week.

My aunt and cousin dropped by for a visit yesterday after the morning mass at St. Anne's sanctuary. Owh yeah, its St. Anne's feast last weekend. I attended the candle lighting event on Saturday night itself, with heaps of people that you can barely walk. If you are wondering who is St Anne, she's the mother of Virgin Mary, the grandmother of Lord Jesus. Also knows as Saint Anna in some places. She is known to have kind heart and healing power. For me, I prayed to a better person, and help me to help others while I'm looking for success for myself.

My aunt continued her story of felling down at a market in India she'd recently visited. According to her, it was so painful that she was limping her way to church. During one of the prayers, the Priest said out loud, there's a person whose leg is suffering in pain. Worry not, the Lord is healing that person just right now. And I guess you guys should know how the story went. Miraculously, her leg was OK the day after. She added, miracles do come to a person in so many different ways, it depends on how you perceive it. Very true indeed.

In fact, if you've ever read the book The Secret from Rhonda Byrne, you can learn on how miracles are created, by YOURSELF.

Great week to come!

I Am Not Selling Ice Cream

Well, it is not ice cream as it does not involve any "cream" in its recipe. The correct name for it would be sorbet.

Sorbet /sɔrˈb/ is a frozen dessert made from sweetened water flavoured with fruit (typically juice or purée), wine, and/or liqueur.

This recipe makes 5 sticks of sorbet, just like ones above. Right, here goes the 5-ingredients' recipe:

1 cup of fruit concentrate (Sunquick would be a good choice)
2 cups of plain yogurt
1 cup of boiled water (ensure its boiled water as we are not going to bring the mixture to boil)
1 cup of sugar (you can choose to reduce sugar if the fruit concentrate has sugar content)
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence

So, over the slow fire, stir in 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of boiled water and 1 cup of fruit concentrate till all sugar dissolved. Remember, you may not need to bring the whole mixture to a boil since you are using boiled water.

Stop the fire once sugar is dissolved. Pour in 2 cups yogurt and stir the mixture. Finally, add in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence and you are ready to pour into your Popsicle mould.

It takes a good 3 hours before you can really enjoy them. Try lah!!!

Keep Up With Me

Keep Up With Me - that would be the perfect English title for Jaclyn Victor's album and single, 'Ikut Rentakku'.

Released last 2 weeks, her new single is constantly being played by local radio stations. With catchy lyrics and tune to the song, Ikut Rentakku has a glimpse of Anita Sarawak's Seksis aura. Maybe because, owh well, KRU produced this whole album (and so was Anita Sarawak's Seksis). You might want to check out her rendition on Sedetik Lebih also - flawless is the adjective I need to add!

Really tempted to get a copy from the CD store, but I've went to 2 stores and none of them have her album at their rack. Will try my luck this weekend again.

Exam Period

Its exam period! Gone were the days where I thought once I completed my final paper in university, there will not be anymore exams.

Its stressful period, means, more food, less rest and a huge load of work to come!

What's Life After All?

Uncertainties. Excitement. Going with the flow...

I had a very rare "ah-ha" moment last week. I suddenly remembered when did I most had 'life' in my life. That was, years ago when I was doing my internship at Guppy. Though work was tough, but I still had time to hang out with buddies, doing the most bizarre stuffs and venturing into new stuffs we had never tried before.

Then came in an invitation by a colleague on last Wednesday morning, "Hey, let's go for movie tonight, 10.30PM". At first, I was like, "R u crazy? 2moro no need work ah?" But then, I went...

That was the first movie I've watched in cinema since James Bond, not Skyfall but Quantum of Solace!!!

Remember my colleague who gave me that Roti John paste? Well, she offered me a job last week. To become a Roti John maker for a day. Since I've got nothing to lose on a Saturday evening, I said, why not?

The lady in pink is the nicest colleague you can ever find. So for me, life goes on, but definitely with a bit more flavour last week.

A Love Letter to Carl Zeiss

Dearest Carl Zeiss,

By this 23rd July, it will be a year since we last met. I know you are now at a place where eternity is something that you can just buy from 7-eleven (makes no sense at all).

Let me let you know that I do miss you, tremendously. But a year without you has been horrifying and so so sad. What more your friend, Ms. Blackberry, who is supposedly a smartphone is not smart after all in taking photos. I caught her having an affair with Mr. Facebook lately too. What a bee-yotch!

I miss you, that is for sure.

Then last Sunday, I suddenly had an "Ah-ha" moment - Why not I marry your sister? She is hot black, and you know what they say about black rite? Once you go black, you will never go back! I'm finally in love again and love shall be my next endeavor.  Don't get me wrong, I still miss you. Just that this hunger for self vainess is finally reaching to its limit! Her beautiful name sounds a bit similar to your - Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar. So everytime I caress her, I will remember you. Cool rite? I met her from her Friendster page : http://www.sony.com.my/product/dsc-tx30

You are truly to be missed, but it is time for me to move on. Remember this, I still miss you.

Love,
Kelvin

If you don't get it, its OK. Perhaps you should read from the previous post:

Saturday Specials

Woke up early today because had promised my mum we'll be cooking Roti John today.

One of my colleague was nice enough to provide me with the Roti John's paste as she is now selling Roti John during the fasting month.

All in all, very naiseeee...!

Random Acts of Kindness

I think it was in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan or something that Red FM discussed on the above matter yesterday morning. And suddenly it reminded me, when was the last time actually I acted "kind" enough to someone else?

There was this one Saturday, I was buying curry puffs from a stall and a few stalls from this curry puffs stall, there was another stall selling kuih. An old Indian lady gave the seller a 5 ringgit note that was not that severely torn - believe me, it was not that badly torn after all. I mean its only a road side stall, not some high class restaurant or something. The seller refused to take her 5 ringgit note cause it was torn at the edges. What a bee-yotch! Then this poor Indian lady, she had to take out all her 10,20,50 cents to pay for her kuih. Oh my God, my heart felt pity to the max for her! Also to mention, the fact that the stall is about 6-7 meters away and I could still hear their conversation, I just couldn't imagine how would that Indian lady felt! By the time I paid for my curry puffs, she was still finding her loose coins to pay for her kuih. THAT WAS IT!

I went to that stall, and the following action had just made my day!

Me : Ah Ka, mari kasih Ah Ka punya duit koyak, saya kasih tukar.
She said nothing but handed me her torn 5 ringgit note.
Me: Tak pa Ah Ka, saya punya bapa kerja bank. Nanti saya boleh tukar.
Stall Owner: Ha baguih la boleh tukar. Sini susah mau kasih orang duit koyak.
I gave the stall owner a good stare, and I walked off!

You know what would be better, instead of that Ah Ka paying, I should have paid for her RM1.20's kuih. So what happened to that 5 ringgit note? on the same day, I bought fried rice with that piece of 5 ringgit note!

I think we should by any way, try to be kind at least once a week. It really brings you back to reality of this cruel world.

Smartphone Makes You Dumb

Believe me, this is nothing but a fact - smartphone indeed makes us dumb. Or at least, makes us feel like one dumb fool.

3.00 PM : Let's go somewhere...lepak.
3.03 PM : No thanks, tired.
3.03 PM : Busy do what?
3.05 PM : Tired la, wanna sleep.
3.07 PM : Ok, fine!

8.30 PM : *BING* XXX just joined Viber. Add him/her in your contact list?

8.31 PM : You changed ur hp?
8.32 PM : How u know?
8.33 PM : I supposed, "tired" choosing phone just now eh?
8.33 PM : How u know?

Ladies and gents, didn't you know that if you join a new app, the whole world got to know? Well, now you know. So the next time you are trying to lie yourself out, please think twice. Looks like your new smartphone had already made you looked dumb! :p

Somos Novios - Its Impossible

I adore this version of the song by Andrea and Christina. The direct translation of the title from Spanish is 'We Are Together', but the English version to the lyrics called for 'Its Impossible'.

This song reminds me of 'I Hate You Then I Love You' by Celine Dion & Luciano Pavarotti. I must say, one of the best and well-balanced duets of all time. Kudos!

Running on Jet Fuel

To tell you the truth, this past week has been quite busy but yet exciting to da max! I was supposedly flown to "somewhere" from the 1st till 5th of July. Last minute changes, it was cancelled cause it was extremely cold down under now. Oooppsss.... too much!

So I was rescheduled to go for an audit session at Sepanggar Bay, Kota Kinabalu. The last I've been there was 2 years ago. Its so good to be back there where work are so much more relaxed and toned down. Believe me, it was utterly easy going over there. Just look at what my ex-boss is doing early in the morning...

And there is no need to explain about the glorious seafood (and dirt cheap too)...

Tanjung Lipat famous for its Chicken Wings Berlipat.

And the view from my hotel room was spectacular! In exact opposite to Pulau Gayah.

And all of those excitement came to a stop when I had to rush back to Penang to organize a HSE campaign for my fellow staffs.

And realized that its going to be fasting month soon, where Hari Raya would be a month's time from now, equals working on Hari Raya! Pffff.....

Till then, OK Bah Kalau Kau...
