Dreams

I remember vividly quoting a saying, "Dreams don't come true, goals do" in an article that I've wrote but to my surprise, many of my colleague did not quite agree. Well to be quite honest, I am such a big fan of a dreamer myself. But at the end of the day, what is more important is that how do we want to "achieve" our dreams that matters...which translates into our own personal goals.

For me being myself, I dream really lots. My mum would usually tell me story of how my aunt studied in Canada, my uncle in Australia, and another uncle of mine who used to work at New Zealand. At that point of time, I would be happy just to hop on an airplane and fly. That "dream" came true in 2007. My maiden flight to Adelaide, Australia.

Then when I started working, one fella is flying to Sudan, the other Iraq, another Vietnam and Philippines. But then when is my turn??? Perhaps I am too "young" in the company. But then when things are to happen, you somehow someway can know it. Notice in one of my post, I wished that I could get enough money so that I could return to Australia one day?

Well, looks like I will flying again to Melbourne next week! Dream big, have faith, pray...

That One Day Trip

My BFF will usually (sarcastically) say that I travel like the Queen of England. Why so? Because I love to do day trip for my business travel. I leave Penang to any location early in the morning, and leave from that location back to Penang at the same day. Me, Penang...unbreakable.

Dropped by KLCC yesterday for a short meeting with my boss. By now, I think the world should know that I will be away to Australia, Melbourne for a week next month. It was a mere 30 minutes meeting with him about the details of the Australia's trip. Its no vacation though! The meeting ended around 10.30-ish, and I had nothing to do after that.

So, I dropped by my favourite spot in KLCC - Kinokuniya.

I seriously don't know when did I developed the habit of reading. The shity thing about Penang is, even MPH does not have some of the books that I crave. And, after about an hour of 'shopping', I traveled to Melaka. Yes, MELAKA!

Long trip there, and visited the Melaka terminal for about 2 hours or so, then then I headed straight to KLIA.

Met up with 2 BFFs there and we have quite a lot to catch up among us, and of course the main 'dish' was gossiping lah... The takeaway message from our so-called 'discussions' was, remember you've got life to live with. Work is not the only thing you need. Work-life balance lah...

Tired, but fulfilling indeed.

Owh yeah, have you noticed that my photos are extra 'clear' recently?

Damn I looked fly!!!!! Well, that's because....

Hihi... Life oh life!

The Hamt@RO State of Mind

Right, some revision perhaps today. This is Hamtaro (ム太郎) - a japanese manga hamster character.

This on the other hand, is Hamt@RO:

Why was I called (or even equated to) Hamtaro? Well you see when I was in campus, I had this bed sheet that was made of Hamtaro characters. Hence, one of my fellow friend decided to just call me Hamtaro! When I started this blog, I simply named it Hamt@RO Me.

Similarities between myself and Hamtaro would be:
1. Cute
2. Cute
3. Cute-ness like oh-mi-gosh!!!

Disclaimer: Vainess in action on first gear kicking in!

No but really, the similarities of myself and Hamtaro would be that I enjoy sleeping (who doesn't anyway??), love listening to music and love taking photos. Speaking of which... taking photos and camera would be my new found love.

More great "clarity" to come! Cheerios!

World Class Duets

I am sooo sooo into 'Just Give Me A Reason' by Pink and Nate Reuss lately. Its like my midnite cravings before sleep, I just have to have it! Seriously people, that is one-of-a kind duet and undeniable powerful vocals by both singers.

And of course over the years, just a handful of great duets are being produced. I can name you a few (in my personal opinion though).

Bagaikan Sakti by M Nasir and Dato' CT Nurhaliza is just - SPECTACULAR. I remember watching the snippet of the video clip, and would long to wait for another snippet being aired on local tv stations. I mean let's face the fact, even Muara Hati (Dato' CT Nurhaliza feat Hafiz) does not have that 'uumph' that Bagaikan Sakti posses.

Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat's lucky is another great duet ever recorded.

But still, the best duets of all time would be my personal duet with my fellow roomie in the song, That Thing You Do!

Mid Life Crisis - Came A Little Early

FACT: Though most of the times I spend my hours working, I have NOT once felt lonely. But things are about to change.

There were times where I just started my car and wondered around, without knowing where to go and what to do. I mean, what the heck am I supposed to do after leaving work at 9PM? Its too late to go anywhere and plus, too tired. So I tried my best to leave early from work, but then where to go again?

Planned to go for movie this week (Percy Jackson and Despicable Me), but then suddenly had to move to Kuantan for a training. FTW! Rosak plan...

Am now sitting (alone) at KLIA waiting for my flight at 10PM later. And yes, it reminds me that we've got 2 more hours of waiting (alone).

Seriously, I felt like a 22 years old uni-boy who is under a cold war with his roomie (again)!

One word - BORING!

This Is How A Friendship Ends

I can't remember his name. He was a Chinese guy, who was our facilitator for our orientation program when we first joined the company. He loves to relate stories to all of us, lessons learnt as he calls it.

There is one specific story that I've learnt from him.

And I quote...

"Guys, you should take a relationship or friendship like stacks of eggs. The more you know that person, the more stacks of eggs you carry. But eggs are so fragile that it can be easily broken, and so is relationships. Give space to each other, know your boundaries and learn to live by yourself without depending too much on the other person. You will see, that these stacks of eggs will last forever."

I am facing a turmoil friendship as of now but I know I can definitely handle this better than before. Just that, its consuming me just a little too much. Leaving for Kuantan tomorrow, let's just hope things will be better when I return back to Penang.

With This Ring, I Thee Wed

The first time I saw the above title (or more accurately "With Mummy's Ring, I Thee Wed") was during Will & Kate's wedding announcement. My goodness, it should be correctly written as HRH Prince William & HRH Princess Katherine. Pardon me for my lack of royal protocol.

Well I know 'thee' in Old English means 'you', but the way the sentence "I Thee Wed" sounds a bit weird. And plus, I thought we are supposed to use You (Thee) before I? But it roughly translates to "You & I Be Wedded".So sweet...

The only 2 rings that I had in my life are...

The gold ring was my 21st birthday's present from my mum. Well, she was supposed to give me a golden key pendant (representing freedom at the age of 21) but I refused so. Just because, I don't wear any necklace, so what's the use of the golden key pendant? I rarely put on the gold ring cause its just too....tacky.

The silver one (is not platinum though), is made of rock. Yes, ROCK! I bought that ring when I was in Adelaide, way back in 2007 at the Adelaide Airport. And, this is the second ring that I've bought. The first slipped from my finger and broke into pieces one fine morning when I was strolling to lectures. So to avoid similar 'incident', I decided to wear the ring with a silver necklace, like what you may noticed in some of my photos before:

Interesting?

It Has Been 4 Times

Yes, indeed. It has been 4 times since 2010 that I've gotta work on Hari Raya Aidilfitri, but I'm not complaining though.

Noticed the similarities in all 4 years??

This year was no exception. Arrived at work around 10 AM, and started signing off the Hari Raya cards for all my staffs.

Then prepared all the Hari Raya gifts for them. This year - Tupperware products.

Ok, I will have to admit I'm a Tupperware freak!

And plus, this year's bonus would be...

Siapa Tak Puasa?

Aku lah, siapa lagi? Hehe...

Its great fun to visit Bazaar Ramadhan as its an exhibition of the best and scrumptious local delicacies. And of course, usually I will be tempted to buy more than what I can consume...my bad. But similar to life lessons, I found (and learned) so much new "food" this year around at the Bazaar Ramadhan.

This is Komoyaki - well at least that's the name of the stall selling these stuff. If you google for komoyaki, you wouldn't find anything. Its just basically shrimp, cuttlefish or chicken balls with cheese and Bonito flakes on top. Nice stuff, but a bit expensive, RM1.20 each ball.

You might already know this, Kebab. Though I've seen it so many times before, this is only the first year I've bought these babes! It has tender pita bread and filled with chicken or beef cooked with veg. Its quite nice, provided that if the filling is not too liquid-ish. Else, it tastes like bread with liquid mayo. Arrgh...

Brain-brain aka Otak-Otak.Unlike the Nyonya version of Otak - Otak which is wrapped with banana leaf and have chunks of fish fillet in it, this version of Otak - Otak is rather fish paste roasted on coconut leaf. For me, I still prefer the Nyonya version with kaduk leaves lemon grass aroma.

Its great to savor all these amazing stuffs. But just a public reminder, Ramadhan is a holy month for our Muslim friends. So please, PLEASE, don't get going to Bazaar Ramadhan with your short-shortest shorts (especially girls). Respect others to be respected in return. I've seen a few Chinese girls wondering in these bazaar with no less respect, what more, the bazaar was at a mosque's compound.

Till then, am enjoying life to the fullest!
