Under The Rain

When was the last time you stand under the rain? Intentionally, I mean.

I did! And it was pure fun!

My Breakaway

Work and my job had taken a “life” outta me for the past 2.5 years. I felt extremely reluctant to even go for a short trip out of Penang. But then, out of no where, Hui Nee suggested for a meet up session at Malacca last June. Since then, I started to re-blog, learned to take things a bit slow, read a book or two, meeting new people and most importantly just remember to breathe. I remembered, I need a life too.

This time around, my cousin sister said its about time to return to Hat Yai, Thailand. So we did, and mind if I mention that it was with 9 other AUNTIES! LOL!

I said YES, someone else said NO!

The morning monks : They lined up every morning at the wet market, and passer by or even stalls owner will offer food to them. In return, they chant some prayers, for well-being I supposed.

The choices of stuffs you have at Hat Yai is SO SO MUCH!

In a way, the peeps of Siam is clever in creating value out of something normal.

I thought that chestnut was roasted with tar, its COFFEE BEANS LA!!!

This coconut ice - cream with glutinous rice is HEAVEN!

Seafood is in abundance and dirt cheap!

Souvenirs for him, for her and you! You know who you are...

I bought a bag for myself, worth RM200. Well initially before bargain OF COURSE. After discount, hahaha... only RM80!

More to come, more to come! Fingers crossed. I love it this way.

When You Know Better, You Do Better.

I have learned two (2) important lessons in life last week. The first being from the book that I’ve read half way (don’t even know when to continue reading), My Stroke of Insight by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor. How did I encounter such a great book? Miss Oprah Winfrey!

The takeaway from this book is simple and does make sense, it says, “…the simplest explanation of being human is at least to be responsible for the vibes (or energy) that you bring to a specific space or area. It affects others…”.

So, the very next time your superior (or anyone else) raise his/her voice to you, just remember, its his/her decision to bring such a negative vibes to the surrounding, the decision is not yours (and beyond your control)! Its not your fault, and thus do not ever let such negative energy to hold you back at that moment. Simple, yet so true!

Then, I had an opportunity to meet with this one guy, a colleague of mine based in KL. He said, “…make things simple, let common sense rules…”. Guan did not quite agree, and he said that it is hard to make things simple. The matter of fact is that, things were pretty much simple before it became hard complicated. So when something is hard enough, go back to basics (I supposed).

I never knew reading and meeting new people would bring such great pleasure. Now, I know.

Ceremony & Protocol

The title seemed to be so "uni-life" related right? Nevertheless, I still very much enjoy those days that I was actively involved in organizing events during uni days. This time around, I was put charge for the Ceremony & Protocol (C&P) Department for this event for the 30th anniversary and Hari Raya Celebrations.

It just felt so good that your own design gets printed 20 over times larger and everybody is looking forward to take photos on it as backdrop.

Aiseh man!

The usual drama when event comes live - not enough tables for over enthusiastic guests!!!

Fabulous MCs I had on that day!

At the end of the day, every single drop of hard work paid off when the event went on smoothly without hickups!

I Had Been Happier

Right, though the first picture may not necessarily depict the title of this post, but yes, I’ve been a lot happier lately. I've finally participated in the annual Kawad Merdeka, and it was pure fun. I really missed those days when I used to wake up as early as 4 a.m. for the Merdeka Parade with the school's brass band. So I supposed, it was a "down-memory-lane" visit again last week.

Can you spot me? I was wondering why were those peeps in the front line keeps on smiling?

They had breakfast, I didn't.

Kantoi update FB status, while the rest was facinated with TM's laungan Merdeka, Hidup Malaysia!

Done with the marching, time to pose and fool around!

Buddies!

After makan - makan, perut penuh, hati senang! The food at Sri Bonda (or was it Dapur Bonda or something) was jolly good!

So yes, for the first time I felt that I was not 'obliged' to attend the Merdeka Parade and it was more like a more wanted and looked after break for myself.  Cheers!

Spring Is Here

Little may know that my dad is an enthusiast gardener. He plants anything from papaya trees to beautiful flowers that may off and on bloom bountifully! I just realized lately that collectively he had planted almost 20 types of trees and flowers at home.
